Anyone for a movie?

Jan. 12th, 2007 | 04:29 pm

Hey, I was just thinking - I know, that's weird. Almost as weird as me posting in LJ. Anywho, is anyone interested in seeing a movie tonight? Call, e-mail, IM, or just plain reply if you are...

Moving update

Feb. 3rd, 2006 | 09:05 pm

No, this isn't a moving update - it's an update about the move. Actually, it's just a reminder. Anyone who can lend a hand is welcome to partake in beer and wine and margaritas (possibly) tomorrow. We can't pickup the truck until about 3pm, so anytime after 2 is probably best. If you need directions, just leave a comment or send me an e-mail.

And don't worry if you can't help. We'll still be friends, and you'll all be invited to the first bash we throw!

And introducing...

Dec. 31st, 2005 | 08:52 pm

Just shy of a month after closing this site, I present you with the successor:
THOMnottom.com

I'm not sure what will become of neverhood.net, but since it was my first domain name I doubt I could let it go. But my "web presence" will now be officially shifted over, including all past posts and comments. So come on over and join the party!

P.S.(This is the only post that won't be joining the new site. It's appearing on neverhood.net and LJ simply to tell people where to go. Everything else, however, has already been moved.)

Meme interlude

Dec. 7th, 2005 | 06:02 pm

While my blog continues its hiatus:

More Emotional

You have:
70% SCIENTIFIC INTUITION and
77% EMOTIONAL INTUITION
The graph on the right represents your place in Intuition 2-Space. As you can see, you scored well above average on emotional intuition and above average on scientific intuition.Your emotional intuition is stronger than your scientific intuition.

Your Emotional Intuition score is a measure of how well you understand people, especially their unspoken needs and sympathies. A high score score usually indicates social grace and persuasiveness. A low score usually means you're good at Quake.

Your Scientific Intuition score tells you how in tune you are with the world around you; how well you understand your physical and intellectual environment. People with high scores here are apt to succeed in business and, of course, the sciences.

Try my other test!
The 3 Variable Funny Test
It rules.

My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 56% on Scientific

Job Offer

Nov. 17th, 2005 | 06:13 pm

Time for another random LJ appearance for me. Well, maybe not so random. I need to hire someone for my "IT Department" (since I currently am the "Department", I use that term loosely). I'd love to bring in a friend - or even a friend of a friend - although I'll warn you right now that the pay will be fairly average. So if you're looking for the big bucks, this isn't it. But it is a nice, friendly place to work with a lot of flexibility. And besides, you'l be answering to me! Anywho, this is the current job description that I've put together:
Job Description – Assistant IT Administrator

Unigene Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the IT systems of a production facility in Boonton, NJ. This position will be moved to the Fairfield, NJ facility by the third quarter of next year.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all computer systems in the facility.
  • Maintain all printers in facility and coordinate maintenance of copiers with third-party vendors.
  • Work with scientists and third-party vendors to maintain scientific equipment and software.
  • Perform helpdesk tasks for users, including changing passwords, unlocking accounts, troubleshooting access problems, etc.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly backups of facility servers.
  • Monitor network systems and resource usage in the facility.
  • Handle all localized IT requests.
  • Install and maintain new equipment as needed.
  • Make recommendations for upgrades to equipment as needed.
  • Write facility-specific IT procedures.

The Assistant IT Administrator will also work with the IT Administrator on company-wide projects and handle duties for both facilities in the absence of the IT Administrator.

Required Skills:
  • 3+ years in systems administration
  • BS or BE in computer field is a plus
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows XP Pro and Office (preferably 2003)
  • Strong experience with Windows domain environment (Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory experience is a plus)
  • MCSE is a plus
  • Scripting ability is a plus
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Linux systems is a plus.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
I'm also submitting this to agencies and such, but would give preference to a friend. If you're interested or know someone who would be, drop me a line - you can find my e-mail in my journal if you don't have it. Or, better yet, you could actually send a resume to me at work - tslattery@unigene.com.

Stupid Movie Party

Feb. 23rd, 2005 | 11:38 am

Ok, so plans are set for this Saturday at 4 pm. I hope more of you can make it than replied so far. If anyone wants to come and didn't get an invite, I apologize. I've been slowly finding more addresses of people that I forgot to include originally. That's what I get for not keeping a decent address book. If you haven't gotten an invite and want one, let me know and I'll add you.

Anyone coming, bring any movies that you think fit, and we'll throw them in whenever we can. Any ideas for food are welcome too. Obviously I'll have alcohol under control.

Stupid Movie Party

Feb. 12th, 2005 | 09:15 pm

Holy crap, I'm actually writing in LJ! What could possibly be going on? Well, I was thinking of having a party on the 26th (of this month). More specifically, a Stupid Movie Party. We'd start sometime around 4 or 5, and put as many stupid movies on as possible (2 TVs, and a computer with a big monitor). Everybody can sit/stand around and make fun of them, or actually talk to each other. And drink... we can't forget the drinking. Maybe there'll even be food.

So, is anybody interested? Discuss...

I forgot to mention that I moved my website to a subdirectory. It is now accessible at neverhood.net/blog. Kurt, you might have to change the feed you set up. That's all.

As most of you know, I don't post to LJ. I only joined so that I could comment on friends' sites. If you want to read about me, go to neverhood.net to see my real website.
